the history of Chinese Calligraphy: a treasured art form created at the Fusion of Linen and Brush."





Ode to Chinese Calligraphy

This monumental Hublot Classic Fusion features appliqué Chinese calligraphy numerals, floating upon a fumé dial made of Linen: one of the oldest textile fibres finding its roots in Asia over 9000 years ago.

Full Body Motion

This woven fabric was chosen to represent the tight knit of the Club. The calligraphy is done by Singaporean calligrapher Clarence Wee, on an exceptionally large scale and performed with strokes requiring full body motion. The work was then miniaturised and adapted onto the dial.

The Art of Fusion

This Special Edition further testifies to the brand’s dedication to material and conceptual fusion; showcasing together a Chinese cultural expression and Swiss watchmaking excellence.
